About Immokalee Technical Center

The Immokalee Technical Center is the newest technical training center in Florida. It will focus on state of the art career and technical education programs for high school students and adults. The center will also offer ABE/GED and adult literacy programs.

All programs will have active business partners which will go beyond the advisory capacity. We envision businesses and/or associations “adopting” programs to serve as foundations for curriculum support, financial assistance, connecting activities (internships, job shadowing, speaking, professionals in residence, etc.), and permanent job placement for graduates.

The Immokalee Technical Center is accredited with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).

Immokalee Technical Center is a Candidate for Accreditation by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education.

The mission of iTECH is to provide rigorous and relevant real-world educational experiences using both traditional and distance learning models in order to qualify students for employment and career advancement.

One of the unique facets of the center as proposedl includes site-based businesses established through open-to-the-public store fronts. The proposed storefronts include: a cyber café and full restaurant, a practicing medical office, an automotive service center, a childcare center, and a cosmetology center. The storefronts will serve several purposes. They will allow students to get direct training with customer service to provide soft skills training. They will also act as a conduit for marketing to future students by attracting them to the retail centers.
