| Students will learn to measure brake pedal height, check master cylinder for internal and external leaks and proper operation, diagnose poor stopping, pulling or dragging concerns caused by problems in the hydraulic system, and inspect brakes lines, flexible hoses and fittings for leaks. | ||

| Diagnose electrical/electronic integrity for series parallel circuits using principles of electricity (Ohm’s Law). Demonstrate the proper use of a digital multimeter during diagnosis of electrical circuit problems. Inspect and test switches, connectors, relays, and wires of electrical/electronic circuits; repair or perform necessary action. |

| As a service assistor you will learn how to greet the customer and listen carefully as the customer describes the problem. As well as writing the repair order in enough detail to assist the technician in diagnosing the problem. |

Purpose About the Instructor Preparation for Employment
After students master the equipment and safety test, they can move to iTECH's student-run automotive shop, AutoTech@iTECH, to get hands-on experience performing routine maintenance and customer service tasks. Students will earn OCP A (Occupational Completion Point A) upon completion of this course.
The remaining classes, which are listed in the table below, are more specialized. They align with the eight service areas required for ASE-Certified Master Automobile Technician status. The sequence of these eight classes, after completion of the core OCP A, isat the discretion of the instructor.
