Accounting Operations: 900 Hours, 2 Semesters.

Students participate in work-based learning experiences in their field of study outside of the classroom. ITECH has a Workforce Internship Program for those students who need work experience, but do not have an out-of-school job.

Dual Enrollment Secondary Students in grades 11 and 12 attend the Business Technology classes in two hour blocks. Dual Enrollment students will earn two (2) advanced placement credits each semester.

Post-secondary students earn a Certificate of Completion upon finishing four (4) Occupational Completion Points (OCP’s). A post-secondary student works on all four competencies concurrently and at an individual pace. The ability to work individually and be a self starter is a must!

Accounting Operations

The Accounting Operations course will provide the student with accounting/bookkeeping employment skills. These skills include, but are not limited to: keyboarding, Microsoft Word National Certification, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint National Certification, Outlook National Certification, IC:3 National Certification, business math, business ethics, written and oral communication, filing, calculators, web design, QuickBooks, sole proprietorship accounting, partnership accounting, merchandising accounting, corporation accounting, and automated accounting.

Legal Administrative Specialist

The Legal Administrative Specialist course will provide the student with employment skills used in the law office. These skills include, but are not limited to: keyboarding, Microsoft Word National Certification, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint National Certification, Outlook National Certification, IC:3 National Certification, business math, business ethics, written and oral communication, filing, calculators, web design, machine transcription, QuickBooks, legal billing, legal research, contract law, litigation, business organizations, legal terminology, and government.

Medical Administrative Specialist

The Medical Administrative Specialist course will provide the student with employment skills used in the medical office. These skills include, but are not limited to: keyboarding, Microsoft Word National Certification, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook National Certification, IC:3 National Certification, business math, business ethics, written and oral communication, filing, calculators, web design, machine transcription, medical terminology and transcription, QuickBooks, MediSoft, Medical Manager, medical billing, medical case studies, and medical reports.

How do I enroll for Accounting Operations, Legal Administrative Specialist, or the Medical Administrative Specialist program?

Your first step is to see the Guidance Counselor.
Hours are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What tests do I need to take to enroll at iTECH?

You will take the TABE test. This test is a starting point for iTECH to know your reading, language, and math skills.

What scores do I need to have on the TABE test to enroll in Business Technology?

Your first set of TABE test scores indicates your grade level for the start of your program. If you do not achieve the level needed to graduate, you can still enroll in Business classes. However, you will also enroll in remediation to improve your scores and retest. Remediation work is done on line during the school day in the classroom.

Who will help pay for my tuition and books?

FAFSA (Federal Grant); Farmworker Jobs and Education Program (migrant workers, or children of migrant workers); Career Services; scholarships; or self pay. Your counselor will direct you to an agency that will help pay for your tuition and books.

How long is the school day, and what happens if I am absent?

It is important that you attend class every day. There are no excused absences, but you will be allowed 10% absences during a semester. If you miss six (6) consecutive days, you may be dropped. Students are allowed a Leave of Absence in the case of emergency, but the LOA MUST be applied and approved before the leave is taken.

When is graduation?
There is one commence ceremony each year as indicated on the school calendar.
