Q. Why pursue a career in Medical Coder and Biller?
A. Medical Coding and Billing is one of the fastest growing careers in the country. With all the changes that are currently occurring in the health care industry employers need people who are up to date on the current coding practices and procedures. We provide that training.
Q. Is the entire course book work?
A. Although we do a lot of book work we also have laboratories that we utilize to learn anatomy, play games on line and in person to help learn terminology and have internship sites where you can go to get experience in a true health care setting.
Q. After I graduate what can I do?
A. We will prepare you to sit for the Certified Professional Coder exam through the American Academy of Professional Coders which is a much sought after designation for employees in the medical coding field. You will also receive a certificate of completion from ITech.
Q. When do classes start and what is the schedule?
A. We are beginning new full-time classes each semester on campus. Classes are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Distance learning is available starting each quarter.
Q. Is this program accredited?
A. iTech is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Council of Occupational Education. iTech is also an American Academy of Professional Coders approved educational provider. The instructor of the Medical Billing and Coding course is an American Academy of Professional Coders approved medical coding instructor.
