Program Description
The Digital Media/Multimedia Design program focuses on the principles and elements of creative visual design and the promotional marketing advertisement of a business brand. Students will create stunning multimedia presentations highlighting their own unique brand in a portfolio collection. The portfolio will display the student’s logo brand in a variety of projects which include print design, web design, videography, motion graphics and animation, audio recording and editing, and traditional and social media marketing.

Students will work with a broad range of media tools including Adobe digital design software and industry level studio equipment to produce conceptual, technical, and professional presentations of their brand. Students will understand freelance design and how to market their products and services through their own professional website. Students will gain industry knowledge and achieve industry level Adobe certifications.

The one year and nine week program is filled with hands-on projects that will provide the essential skills in working in a broad range of media and design studio environments in order to prepare students to enter the workforce as digital media artists.

Preparation for Employment
This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare students for employment in digital media, new media, and multimedia positions.  The content includes practical experiences in Web page design, interactive presentation development, testing and production.  Specialized skills in multimedia presentations such as video editing, audio features, and simple animation and authoring software are taught and used to produce a variety of interactive multimedia presentations. We teach the useful skills that employers are looking for.

Digital Media/Multimedia Design students will prepare an online and printed portfolio highlighting a variety of multimedia projects of the skills they learned. Portfolios will include  Print, Video, Motion Graphics and Web projects.
Example of Course Projects
There are a variety of multimedia design projects within the four Occupational Completion Points. Students will need to complete the projects in order to satisfy the curriculum requirements for this course. All of the projects together will become the final portfolio

to promote one message, a unique brand.

Studio activities are an integral part of this program.  These activities include instruction in the use of safety procedures, tools, equipment, materials, and processes related to these occupations.  The equipment and supplies in the multimedia design classroom studio are provided to enhance the hands-on experiences for students. Adobe Certified Associate – ACA

ACA is an entry level certification. We offer prep and exams for ACA in Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro and InDesign. Students take exams at iTECH College testing lab.

ACE is the expert level. We offer ACE prep and exams for Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Premiere Pro.

Q. What do I learn in Digital Media/Multimedia Design?
A. You will learn how to use digital design software to invent and create a brand campaign and then learn how to market your brand using web, video, print, animation to test new innovative and traditional marketing techniques.

Q. How long is the iTECH Digital Media/Multimedia Design Program?
A. The iTECH Multimedia Design program is 2 school semesters and 9 weeks or 1050 hours.

Q. Does Digital Media/Multimedia Design also include social media tools online?
A. Yes. Social media tools online include Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIN, and many others. In this program you will learn how to design and market your business brand by leveraging the power of “viral marketing” using social media tools.

Q. What is a brand?
A. A brand is most often associated with a logo which represents a product, a service, or both. Apple computer’s logo is an apple which is their brand icon or symbol. Their products and services have a reputation for being expensive but excellent in quality. The brand is not just the image but the service, the product, and the reputation. In this program you will learn to invent or create a brand and develop it through a variety of media types. Given the nature of this course, multimedia, we will focus primarily on “creating the image and audio” of your brand.

Q. Do you have both Apple computers and Windows computers?
A. Yes. We have Power Macs, Macbook Pros, iMacs, iPads, and many Windows computers. We have a beautiful multimedia facility with many new computers.

Q. Do you have a professional recording studio?
A. Yes. We have a professional recording studio with DigiDesign Pro-Tools, pro-tools keyboard, professional accoustical insulation and an iMac set up to run the software. We use Final Cut Pro’s Soundtrack and Adobe’s Soundbooth to record our tracks.

Q. Do you have a chroma-key virtual studio?
A. Yes. The 12′ x 18′ chroma-key virtual studio is set up with lights, cameras, boom-mic, and green chroma screen cloth on the floor and two walls. This is a very impressive set-up that will allow us to produce video imaging to the highest level. Your imagination is the limit. We edit our video on Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.

Q. Do I need to have experience using Adobe software or other print, video, web, and audio software to succeed in this course?
A. No. We will work will every student no matter what level of experience you bring to the program.
