Programs at Immokalee Technical College
Welcome! The Immokalee Technical Center focuses on state of the art career and technical education programs that will challenge adults to earn a vocational certificate from iTECH and an industry certification within their program field.  The center also offers ABE/GED and adult literacy programs. Below is a brief description of each of the programs offered at iTECH, Immokalee Technical Center.

Programs with Business Store Fronts
Storefronts include: a cyber café and full restaurant, a practicing medical office, an automotive service center, a childcare center, and a cosmetology center. The storefronts will serve several purposes. They will allow students to get direct training with customer service to provide soft skills training. They will also act as a conduit for marketing to future students by attracting them to the retail centers.

Accounting
Accounting is one of our programs within Business Technology. The Accounting Operations course will provide the student with accounting/bookkeeping employment skills. These skills include, but are not limited to: keyboarding, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint National Certification, QuickBooks Certification, business math, business ethics, written and oral communication, filing, calculators, web design, sole proprietorship accounting, partnership accounting, merchandising accounting, corporation accounting, and automated accounting.

This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in transportation.
CNA - Practical Nursing

The iTECH Nursing Assistant program focuses on producing an excellent nursing assistant who is ready to take and pass the Florida Certified Nursing Assistant exam – (C.N.A.), and to function well caring for the elderly resident in a long-term care facility or an assisted living center or even in the client’s home.

Computer Systems Information Technology
The Computer Systems Information Technology program is designed to provide real world relevant training. In the program students receive training on hardware and software for multiple types of personal computers. Included is training on operating systems by Microsoft, Apple and the Ubuntu distribution of linux. The training covers from basic to advanced concepts dealing with setup, configuration, maintenance, optimization, troubleshooting, and repair.

This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare students for employment in Building Construction Trade. The content includes practical experiences in construction related skills such as materials handling, safety, carpentry, masonry, site layout, plumbing, electric, framing, roofing, concrete, communication, hand tools, and power tools.
Cosmetology
Cosmetology
This course will provide clinical experiences necessary for the development of skill required to be a competent cosmetologist. The allocation of time to the various phases of cosmetology is prescribed by the Florida State Board of Cosmetology. This course includes portion of the hours required for the licensure. Topics to be covered include: permanent waving and relaxers, hair color and bleaching, skin scalp and hair treatments, haircutting, styling dispensary, manicure/pedicure/nail techniques, reception, safety precautions/decontamination, Hazardous Duty Standards Act compliance, advanced styling and hair shaping, industry concepts, and exposure to a salon setting

The Multimedia Design program focuses on producing the conceptual, technical, and visual design skills required to create multimedia applications and environments. Students will extend their knowledge of professional applications for many programs, including Adobe, digital video editing, etc. Hands-on projects will provide essential skills in working in a broad range of media.

The fundamental goals of the Early childhood Education program is to provide you with the knowledge, wisdom and strategies of child development.   Students are introduced and engaged with active learning that is developmentally appropriate.  You will experience the fun of knowing how students learn individually and within group settings. You will have the opportunity to plan, implement and evaluate hands-on teaching/learning skills.
ELL - English Language Learners
ELL The ELL program focuses on learning English through reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills required to get a job, get promoted, and communicate in the community. Students expand their knowledge of the English language and practice everyday conversation and real life situations using computer programs, hands-on activities, and small group projects.
GED - General Education Development
GED
Immokalee Technical College’s GED program is designed to prepare students to pass the GED examination and earn their high school diploma. Florida State certified teachers instruct students in reading, language arts, essay writing, science, social studies, and mathematics using curriculum approved by the Florida Department of Education.
Heavy Equipment Mechanics
Heavy Equipment Mechanics
The Heavy Equipment Mechanics (HEM) program focuses on producing atechnical skill’s foundation that will prepare a student to maintain, diagnose and repair all associated heavy equipment systems. In addition, parallel skills associated with Heavy Duty Trucks will be mastered with the objective of successful completion of ASE Certification on T2, T4, T6, and T8 examinations. Students will be able to practice and continue to develop their skills with practical application on current production diesel engines, transmissions, buses and motor grader. They will be proficient using web based service software, ordering parts, and creating reports of service work accomplished.
Legal Administrative Specialist
Legal Administration Specialist is one of our program’s within
Business Technology.The Legal Administrative Specialist course will provide the student with employment skills used in the law office. These skills include, but are not limited to: keyboarding, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint National Certification,  QuickBooks Certification, business math, business ethics, written and oral communication, filing, web design, machine transcription, legal billing, legal research, contract law, litigation, business organizations,  legal terminology,  and government.

The iTECH Practical Nursing program focuses on producing an outstanding practical nurse who is ready to take and pass the NCLEX-PN (Nursing Council Licensure exam – Practical Nurse, and to function well in a broad variety of nursing settings caring for adults, children and the elderly.  Over 50% of the program is clinical.

Medical Administration Specialist

Medical Coder and Biller is a program designed to prepare students for employment in a variety of health care settings as entry level coder, medical record coder, coding technician, or coding clerks, or medical coder/biller.
Patient Care Technician
Patient Care Technichian focuses on preparing students as advanced, cross trained nursing assistants, who provide hands-on care to patients and residents in hospitals, homes, Ambulatory Care and Long Term Care facilities. Its purpose is to develop a broad range of knowledge and skills that can be used in a variety of health care settings and age groups. The program is a blend of classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction. The content includes but is not limited to: interpersonal skills, medical terminology, legal and ethical responsibilities, basic anatomy and physiology, vital signs, performing basic EKG and Phlebotomy procedures, safe and efficient work, first aid, personal care, light housekeeping, gerontology, rehabilitation and restorative care, nutrition, pet-facilitated therapy, end-of-life care, effective time management , healthy home environments, and career readiness.
